how to execute java script inside HTML (Read 6172 times)

pooooh Guest	how to execute java script inside HTML May 24^th, 2004, 1:13am Sorry if i am asking too much.Franki,do i need to install anything on my Mandrake9.2 to execute Java Script inside html?if yes,how can i do it?if not can i just execute it by using script tags? i really hope anyone who knows about it,can help me out with this.thank you.

yes, open a root terminal and type the following:

urpmi mozilla

That will install the mozilla browser.

Then type:
mozilla &

and go to the webpage with the html and javascript you want and it will run...

that was easy wasn't it??

Why do you keep starting new threads instead of replying to the old one?

You are in Japan yes? just curious cos you appear to be connected to the fujitsu infoweb adsl..
If you're japanese, then it might explain why we are having trouble communicating. (language difficulties I mean.)

thank you very much for the reply.
Yes i am in Japan now but i am not a Japanese.and i am new to this HTMLfixit forum. My English sounds that bad to you? i apologise i did something bad.
I have my Mozilla installed in my Mandrake.Actually what i want to do is to build my own homepage using DHTML. Java script can be use inside that right?
So, when i write Javascript inside html( using G-Edit) and save it, the Javascript didn`t seem to work out when i open it using mozilla.
So do you get what am i trying to say now? really hope you can help me out with this again. thank you.
and again ....is my English that bad?

You can definately use javascript in an html page to make it dynamic or DHTML as it is often called. There are many reasons why it may not work. Why don't you try uploading the page you have made to a web server and send us the address.

Have you checked in Mozilla's preferences to ensure that javascript is enabled?

go to "Edit" then "Preferences".

The box that pops up has a white panel down the left, at the bottom of that panel is "Advanced" click the "+" next to advanced and select "Scripts and Plugins"

Make sure the box labelled "Enable Javascript for Navigator" is checked.

You can also check the boxes under it that will allow or disallow specific Javascript items.

Then try your page again.
