Re-Boot Problem!!

Hello...I was tweaking my Video settings and it told me to re-boot to change the settings.  During re-boot, my screen went like this...

Mandrake Linux Release 10.0 (Official) for i586
Kernel 2.6.3-7mdk on an i686 / tty1
CPE0020ed71f0cd-CM00a739b708e login:

None of my login names or passwords work and I can't get back in.  I'm using "Mandrake 10 Official" Anyone have any ideas on how to get back in??  Thanks in advance.

thats very odd,  looks like your hostname has been corrupted among other things..

What you might try, is booting from the first mandrake CD, then at the prompt, type: rescue

and then follow the prompts, it will load linux on from the CD, with no root password, and then "optionally" mount all your partitions.

Once you are in, simply set a new root password by typing:
passwd root

and type the new password twice.

that should get you started.
