Easy Thumbnails (excellent batch resize program, great for batch compression too) - freeware

Paint Shop Pro 7/8 (great photo editing software) - $$$

Notepad++ (a excellent free Open Source text editor with macro's and language specific features.) - Windows freeware OSS
Notetab Light (a powerful plain text editor with macro's to simplify common drafting tasks) - Windows freeware
Arachnophilia Editor (nice HTML editor) - careware
Textpad (A very useful and user friendly advanced text editor, has syntax highlighting, macros, line numbering etc) - Windows Shareware

Windows Utilities
Ccleaner. Windows Registry Cleaner and System Optimization (Best for 200/XP) (a nice utility to clean the "crap" out of your windows registry, will also allow uninstallation of software via it's tools interface) - freeware - donations welcome but not required
Easy Cleaner. Windows Registry Cleaner and System Optimization (Best for 95/98/98SE/ME) - freeware - donations welcome but not required
Power Pro (a nice utility to configure windows and launch programs with ease) - freeware
RapidRes (quickly look at your pages with different screen resolutions) - lic. freeware

Best Web browser on the internet.
Mozilla.org (Features popup blockers, anti spam features (in the email client) and tabbed browsing. (So you can have multiple pages open in one browser window).

Multi-Media Tools
Irfanview (great for breaking an avi file to frames) - freeware
Virtual Dub (awesome video editor!) - GNU freeware

Miscellaneous/Other
Xenu Link Sleuth (find broken links on your pages, generate a site map, find forwarded links) - freeware/donate to author causes if so moved
HTML Tidy (great program to analyze/validate HTML and spot errors, neatly formats HTML if asked) - freeware W3C open source license
