When an executive leaves your company and you are a significant enterprise, how long should it take you to remove a page stating that person works for you? Good luck to Ms. Baskin where ever life may take her.

I’m thinking of it … this site offers this:
“Both Male and Female changing rooms are available to all students.”
I’m thinking I go for the female room myself. I hope they don’t mind.

This is a good example of a page needing some work. It doesn’t have a title, so if I bookmark it, it is simply “Untitled Document”. Anyway I don’t mean to pick on them and I have no idea why I even arrived on their cyber-door-step.

Anyway the category is called “random” featured site, and who can argue that this thought is totally random?

I love the Tour de France. I don’t know why but the last five years I have fallen in love with it. The intrigue, the etiquette, the sheer magnatude of the race. This years Tour was amazing. First they dump a bunch of leading cyclists out the back door at the last minute claiming blood doping, and now they challenge Floyd Landis’ win. OLN does an excellent job of bring the tour to the television. I love their comentators. But what are they thinking having a poll that says: “Did Landis do it?” That’s it. What is it? Yes he did it, he won the tour! Maybe he did it … used testosterone? Or maybe he didn’t. How can I answer that question? I have to assume what it means. Come on OLN, do a better job. Say what it is. I happen to think that he did not dope with testosterone or any other banned substance. Why would he? As Bob Roll says in todays top story on OLNTV.com, is it even physiologically possible to go from a negative test one day to such a positive test the next day?

I have no idea if this site is for real or not. I somehow find it funny. You can ask … how did you wind up there? The answer is I don’t have a clue. I surfed there somehow and laughed and laughed. Good luck young fellow.

Funny site. Tell it a bit about yourself and it tells you your famous last words. Mine seemed suprisingly accurate: “I can pass this guy!”

I am not much of a word smith myself. There are however some great sites available to help the slower aword like myself:

• WordSmyth: will allow you to look at words that surround your word alphabetically
• OneLook Reverse Dictionary: give it your concept and it will suggest words … amazing for when you are stuck
• Wordspy: from the guy who got me started on the net, you can look up words by categories and he has current definitions, for example look at blog under computers
• Thesauras.com: find the synonym for the word you have

If it is not minimalist (see prior article) then I have been really liking things that are not square (and rectangle) on web pages. How best to explain:

• site with a hanging off 90 degree photograph straddling two divisions
• a site I tossed together with modified css I picked up somewhere where I leave the car hanging — the 2006 Pontiac Solstice you can win if you buy a raffle ticket on that site is by the way red, not blue — I may have to redo in the proper color
• this one that uses swooshes and such and not 90 degree tab headings on the sections below
• This one that pushes the top of the building up above the horizontal rule for Sobie Company
