HTMLfixIT Archive for October, 2004

When I was a kid, we used to crank up the phone and call people at random. “Is your refrigerator running?” “Is the light currently on in the refrigerator?”

Well caller id I suppose has put a bit of a damper on that, but *67 might help that situation by blocking it. Then the kids “crank up the soundboard.” A bit of randomly organized sound bites are played over the phone and the good player on the other side answers the questions. The poor player hangs up as soon as they realized they are duped. Gotta wonder what makes people too busy to goof around for a minute. An example is the Jim Carrey soundboard. You can get a little broader and choose other celebs as well. It is meant to be all in good fun I think.

** note: I quit halfway through this post the first time …. so Franki’s comment was because I was half done 🙂 ***

We at htmlfixit.com run a server for a select group of clients who want high powered reasonable cost web hosting. That includes a mail server, that we wanted to upgrade to add strength and easier administration. Unfortunately after carefully mapping out our server upgrade, we forgot a couple of our web apps were still pointing to the old mail server. We should still get the messages (I rewrote this section in light of Franki’s comment which is accurate) but just after a slight delay. Thanks for your patience.
