In the blogosphere of late are a couple of interesting posts about client/contractor relationships. Over at StuntDubl, Todd Malicoat features a humorous, albeit relevant post about how to “Break up with bad clients.” Somehow, yours truly ended up with one of her “breakup lines” in the list.
At The Blog Studio, Peter Flaschner reveals 11 Tips to Ensure a Successful Web Design Process. My personal favorite, as I noted in his comments, is the first, “Know What Your Goals Are.” A focused, organized and goal-oriented client is highly likely to have the best experience when working with a designer. The relationship is symbiotic–clients who understand this and work in partnership with their designer (or developer) without micromanaging the process see end results that are successful and help grow their businesses in significant ways.
